Here is an fine hand painted Metropolitan Museum of Art Reproduction of an 18th century English Lambeth Delft book flask in blue white and yellow. Book flasks were a popular gift item in the 17th and 18th century, thus the inscription "THE GIFT IS SMALL/GOOD WILL IS ALL". . This faithful reproduction, hand-painted tin-glazed earthenware just like the original, is marked with a Metropolitan Museum of Art foil label and an impressed MMA. These book flasks were made by Mottahedeh for the Met. I have 3 similar book flasks for sale; I have listed each one separately as they are all hand painted and differ slightly.
The book flask is 5 1/8 inches long 3 1/4 inches wide by 1 1/2 inches deep. It weighs 8 oz (shipping weight 1 lbs).
