    Description

    This is a vintage new Delt tile featuring a handpainted windmill in blue over beautiful white glaze enamel made by The Koninklijke Porceleyne Fles N.V/De Porceleyne Fles in 1930. Marked on the back of the tile: on the top portion bearing the tile identification/the trademark of
    De Porceleyne Fles
    (a sign of jar, stylized initials JT underneath, and the name of the city/Delft). The bottom portion of the markers are ”V. Az. 168 II” which indicate the painter initial (V that look like an arrow), the year of production code (Az: 1930)
    The Koninklijke Porceleyne Fles N.V
    . (trading publicly as Royal Delft) is a Dutch manufacturer of Delft Blue earthenware, headquartered in Delft, the Netherlands. It is the only remaining factory out of 32 that was established in Delft during the 17th century. Founded in 1653, the company has been active for over 360 years without interruption. Starting from 1879 all delftware produced by De Koninklijke Porceleyne Fles is marked with its trademark (a sign of a jar, stylized initials JT and name of the city/Delft), the initial of the painter along with the year code.
    Vintage new. Never been displayed or hung. In excellent shape and condition except for a few barely noticeable chips on the back corner of the tile as shown in the last picture.
