Chief justice meets president, presents SC annual report

Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed met President Mohammed Shahabuddin at Bangabhaban this afternoon and presented the Supreme Court’s Annual Report of 2023 to him.
Justice Md Ashfaqul Islam, one of the members of the judges committee for the preparation of the Supreme Court’s Annual Report, was present at the time.
After exchanging pleasantries, the chief justice informed the president about the progress of all the steps taken by him to improve the overall quality of the judiciary since he assumed the office of the chief justice.
In addition, he informed about the overall activities of the Supreme Court and various aspects of its annual report.
The chief justice said the Supreme Judicial Council has already started its activities, a SC press release said.
The president appreciated the various steps taken by the chief justice and expressed his hope that because of the initiatives of judicial reforms, the judiciary of Bangladesh under the leadership of the chief justice will be able to play an important role in ensuring the right to justice of the litigant people in the country in the coming days.
Senior secretary at the president’s office Nasimul Ghani and SC Registrar General Aziz Ahmed Bhuiyan were present at the occasion.
